St. Petersburg, Russia-born Gary Levinson joined the New York Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta before he graduated completed his graduate degree from The Juilliard School. Winner of major international competitions, he is praised for his intense musicality and virtuosic technique. He is Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth, and Sr Associate Concertmaster of the Dallas Symphony.
Our own Paul Posnak - a Juilliard doctoral graduate and international competition winner - joins in a unique 20th Century program that reflects the artists’ Russian heritage: music of 20th century Gershwin, Bernstein and Prokofiev.
And – because we are all family – Gary’s father, renowned double-bassist Eugene Levinson, joins Gary for a rare performance by two generations of musical genius.
